"Des fenêtres colorées dans la ville", by Y. Zurstrassen
Upgrading the existing building stock is a priority
in order to limit carbon emissions and site-impact, but it is also a wonderful
exercise in changing our perception of what surrounds us. Here on the avenue de
Tervuren in Brussels work recently finished in collaboration with Belgian
artist Yves Zurstrassen shows that taking a novel look at what we thought we’d
already fully grasped can bring forth both fresh and exemplary sustainable
solutions as well as well-worn simple pleasures like light-hearted color.
