Presence in brussels
2016 marked the studio’s 15th anniversary, commended by the exhibition PRESENCE IN BRUSSELS at the gallery Louise 186 from september 16th to 18th. On this occasion, architectesassoc invited the photographer Renaud Callebaut to capture through his lens the studio’s contribution to Brussels’ cityscape. Carte-blanche was purposely given allowing him to apprehend and restitute his own personal vision, resulting in a diverse ensemble of images. Indeed, no single esthetic theme linking all projects is singled out by Renaud Callebaut. But rather something else in filigree form to be discovered by the viewer, something that has more to do with diversity and emotional impact … than with generic vocabulary. Amongst the large-size prints several recognizable works stood out : the colorful BELMONT COURT or GREENBIZZ‘s more recent triangular geometry … but other lesser-known buildings that equally embody the office’s delicate modus operandi also attracted attention, such as BRUSILIA in Schaerbeek shown above.
